About David Macchia
David has been hailed as an "industry icon," "marketing guru," and "visionary." He has developed sales concepts and planning solutions that have enabled financial advisors and insurance agents to attract assets exceeding $100 billion. A polished public speaker, David has given more than 1,500 seminar and keynote presentations over a career spanning four decades. He's a prolific writer, and a nationally recognized retirement income planning authority. A steadfast defender of annuities, David charged Ken Fisher with, "Crimes Against Annuities."
As a marketing consultant to leading insurers, David originated the universal life insurance "private pension" and other sales concepts for both life insurance and annuities that have become industry standards. His innovations, including Assisted-Selling and Digital-Assisted Selling, have generated billions in life and annuity premiums. David will tell you that he simply loves the insurance business, and that he wants to help it take back the conversation that Wall Street took from it back in the 1970s.

David sees a huge disaster playing out for millions of American retirees who have been placed in retirement income strategies that provide little or no protection against risks which can destroy a retiree's ability to create income from savings. In his books Constrained Investor and Lucky Retiree, David defines what it means to be a Constrained Investor, and he explains what Constrained Investors must do to be adequately protected in retirement. He's made it his mission to help Americans realize greater financial security in retirement, especially women.
A leading authority on women's retirement security, David has been an outspoken critic of certain practices in the wealth management industry that are misaligned with what women tell researchers they prefer. He has written extensively about women's retirement security, and he has worked hard to educate male advisors on changes they must implement in order to best serve "boomer" women. David developed Women & Income, the first retirement income planning solution developed expressly for women.

David earned an MBA, with Honors, from Boston University Questrom School of Business. He holds the RMA and CBBP professional designations. David and his wife "GG" live in Boston. They are the parents of twins, Ava and Spencer.
